2013 Mercedes-Benz GL Photos Leaked Ahead of New York Auto Show Debut

Mercedes-Benz-GL1 The 2013 Mercedes-Benz GL is awaiting its official debut later this week at the 2012 New York Auto Show, and today, photos of the German SUV have leaked onto the web – from the same source that is responsible for the rest of the leaks, autoforum.cz.

The GL is based on the M-class platform and shares much of the same styling, although the GL has a much more angular look. New LED headlights and daytime running lights are included on the GL to keep it in line with the rest of the Mercedes product family. The rear end has grown boxier and the overall look of the vehicle is much more square and pronounced, unlike the ML which is smoother and rounder.

The engine choices will likely be a 3.0-liter turbo diesel producing 302 hp and 273 lb.-ft., or a 4.7-liter V8 gas engine that makes 402 hp. All engines will probably be mated to a seven speed transmission and offered with all wheel drive.
